2021 for the Books

  Merry Christmas!....a few days ago

Our family would like to wish you all a very Merry (Belated) Christmas and let you know what we've been up to this year. We feel very blessed to have experienced so much this year like weekend trips to St. George, stays at Sundance and Las Vegas for the BYU game. Bigger trips like Florida with our friends then back again with Lauren. Outings to Hale Center Theater, BYU games, a rodeo, Lagoon, camping, floating the Provo River, and two family reunions.

Blain and Heidi

We love projects and this year we put in AC, a new patio wall, and a new trampoline. Blain is a jack of all trades and so handy. So much so that they made him VP of Sales and Marketing at Sundance Mountain Resort and he just passed his 14th anniversary at the resort. Speaking of anniversaries, we celebrate our 20th this week and have a trip to Cancun planned for January. Heidi is loving her calling with the youth in our church and Blain is still serving as the Bishop of our ward.  Most mornings you will find Heidi at the gym, a PTA meeting, and/or the temple.

Christian and Monica

They moved to American Fork, UT this year and are living at Heidi's cousin's house in their apartment. They were able to go to Hawaii for their belated honeymoon where they hiked the whole Na Pali Coastline. Their most exciting news is that they are expecting in April!! A baby boy just in time for Christian to carry him for graduation. He will be graduating in Mechanical Engineering from BYU and Monica continues to film and edit wedding videos.

Addy (18)

She started school at Utah Valley University in January and just finished her first year. She went back for her HS Graduation to walk with her class. She turned 18 and a day later she moved out. She is living just 2 miles down the road so we get to see her at least once a week. She continues to sing and lift our spirits with her beautiful voice and just last week she went through the temple to receive her endowments. She continues to work as a nanny and loves it.

Jack (16)

A big year for Mr. Jackson!! He got his driver's license and had his first date. His sister in law gave him a free car that he fixed up to drive. He and Blain also restored a scooter that was given to them, oh the freedom. He also got his braces off and just in time ;) He went to FSY this summer and loved it. Now he's saved his money to go to Dominican Republic next summer for a humanitarian trip. He's a hard worker and spent his summer landscaping for Frederico's and never complained...it was a hot summer too.

Lauren (13)

She got to take a couple trips this year. One to Cancun with Grandma Sally, a fun tradition with the granddaughters, and one to Florida with mom and dad for her "12 year old" trip that was canceled last year. She tried a couple new things this year like a Jr Lifeguard class. She also tried out for the cheer team and made it. She is a great tumbler but a couple of months ago she landed too hard and broke her foot so she's in a boot for 6-8 weeks. She's a tuff cookie cause for 2 weeks we didn't even know it was broken.

Lia (9)

Lia is involved in a little bit of everything. This year she has tried basketball, soccer, swim team, cross country, and is still doing tumbling. She also wanted to try early morning choir at her school and she loves it. She loves to create and "be inspired" as she says, by making things "out of scratch". She sees potential in everything...and everyone. She loves people and loves to help others. She's the youngest and we're just glad she still likes to play dolls, snuggle, and thinks her parents are pretty cool.

We are looking forward to 2022! We know how blessed we have been and we are so grateful for the blessings of health, hope, and happiness. We are so grateful for this time of year and the gift of light, life, and the love of our Savior. As we start a new year we wish you all the same blessings!

Love, The Wilkeys
