Merry Christmas To All!!!

Feeling GRATEFUL

As a family we have been very blessed this year. We are grateful for our health, which continues to be a blessing as no one has any serious problems (knock on wood), our home, which we’ve been able to remodel the downstairs this year, our neighborhood, which we love and hope to never leave, and our family, both immediate and extended that we are surrounded by and we’re grateful that that’s a good thing!

Blain (the big 40) hit 11 years at Sundance and is now the Director of Sales AND Marketing. We are blessed by Sundance and grateful for his employment there. He was also just put in as the Bishop in our ward and this has been a very humbling experience for our whole family, but especially for him. He was the main “contractor” this year on our home remodel so we’re grateful for his skills and even more grateful that project is done. I guess he deserves a little break J

Heidi (29) is the District PTA Secretary for Provo School District, a new adventure for her. She is currently serving as the 1st counselor in the Ward Primary and grateful to be working with the Primary Presidency and the children! She is also an unpaid “UBER Driver” getting all the kids to all sorts of activities like piano, dance, gymnastics, sports, friends, etc. and will be grateful when Addy can drive this summer… I think!

Christian (22) is in the middle of his sophomore year at BYU and has declared his major to be Mechanical Engineering. He works really hard to keep his scholarship while balancing his time between school, work and social life. He is working for his Uncle Gerrad doing restoration, which might seem like a “crappy” job, but he is very grateful to have a flexible job and a great boss! He enjoys rock climbing and roller skating in his free time and is getting pretty good at both.

Adaline “Addy” (15) is still dancing several hours a week and loves it. She is on the BYU Youth Ballroom team and she is grateful for this opportunity. She is excelling in her ASL class at school and has a real gift for it, skipping to ASL 3 next year. She is excited to get her driver’s license this summer and even though she is barely tall enough to see over the steering wheel she is determined to have her license on her birthday. She (and Heidi) got braces in June and she will be out of them this Spring!

Jackson “Jack” “Jack-Jack” “Jack Attack” (13) worked really hard and earned enough money this past summer mowing lawns to pay his half of: EFY next summer, an Xbox One, our trip to Hawaii in 2019, and an Apple watch. He is grateful for good neighbors who hired him to work. He loves any kind of sport and has enjoyed skiing, soccer, golf, tennis, basketball, running club and flag football this year. Right now he is working hard to be on track for his Eagle Scout before the end of next year.

Lauren (10) is the loviest little girl in the world. She is always good for a hug and a kiss and an “I love you”. She is on the Jr. HOPE Squad again this year at school and is grateful for her teachers nominating her to participate in it. She is in the advanced class at her tumbling studio and loves it. She loves to sing, do crafts, play with her American Girl dolls and snuggle. She and Addy have a job working for our neighbor and we’re grateful she is teaching them how to clean J

Lia (6) is our not-so-little baby. She is also taking a tumbling class and working on her back handspring. She is in all day 1st grade now and mom is not sure how she feels about this. But mom gets to help in her class on Thursdays and then stay for lunch so both of us are happy. She has been very cute to accept our prophet’s challenge to read the Book of Mormon this year and highlight when it talks about Jesus Christ, and even though she is nowhere close to finishing it we are grateful that she would want to try.

Our hearts are full as we contemplate our Savior and His gift to us of repentance and eternal life. We are grateful for this time of year when we celebrate His birth. We look forward to the New Year with a hope that only He can offer. And we are grateful He has placed each of you in our lives. God bless you all and may heaven's blessings pour down upon you. Merry Christmas!!!
